Celebre Place is able to offer affordable apartments and service options to seniors in large part due to programs of the Wisconsin Housing and Economic Development Authority (WHEDA) and the Wisconsin Department of Health (DHS). Celebre Place was built by Nakoma Development with assistance from WHEDA, and it features lower than market-rate rents. To qualify, residents must be 62 years of age or older and have annual incomes of 60% or less of the Kenosha County median income. Age-qualified individuals who wish to live at Celebre Place must complete an application, including a financial disclosure, to determine if they are income-qualified.
An affordable assisted living option, Celebre Place is made possible through the cooperation of WHEDA and the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) and is designed to support resident independence and choice. Certified as a Residential Care Apartment Complex (RCAC) through DHS, Celebre Place provides residents a home-like apartment environment with a broad range of services offered on an as-needed basis. In fact, Celebre Place is the first Affordable RCAC in Kenosha County. Celebre Place will accept residents who are enrolled in the Family Care Program, a benefit that covers the cost of services to seniors where they live, including assisted living residences. Seniors must financially and functionally qualify to participate in the Family Care Program.
